The Savings Star

So, this morning I found myself out of soy milk, cat food, and coffee creamer (all because I didn’t make time to hit the commissary last Sunday. Shame on me!). Drop the kids off at school and headed to Safeway with the new sale flyer, knowing that I am unprepared and will have to suck it up this trip. Oh, but NOT so!I bought all the above for $78.15! I saved $93.31 making my savings 54% today!! Not bad for feeling pretty miserable today and going way unprepared….

As you can see, that includes dairy, (lots of dairy; soy milk, soy fruit & Protein juice, 3 lbs of butter that was on clearance, 1 dozen Egglands Best eggs which were on sale and I had a $.55 Q making them cheaper than the generic eggs, the new Kraft Fresh Take cheese and breading combos, creamer, and the new Phily Indulgence!) I also got fruit (apples and strawberries which I am eating w/the dark chocolate Philly Indulgence, yumm), Odwalla juice, 2 loaves of bread,4 bags of frozen ready to use sausage, and 2 beef roasts that were on sale B1G1 FREE! Plus the frozen waffles, some peanut butter (that you can’t see behind the eggs..), fruit snacks, and the all important cat food!  Let me not forget the Gevalia Coffee that I found 50% off and had a $2/1 Q for, bringing the price down from $9.49 to $2.49 ( don’t ever forget to check out the clearance rack in the store…)! This week at Safeway you will find a lot of B1G1 FREE items throughout the store. Remember to load your Safeway card at Safeway.com and use manufacturer coupons! Just a reminder, Safeway will not allow coupons to be used on FREE items, but you can use them on the items you are buying in a B1G1 FREE sale.

I would say that the store sales, Safeway coupons, and my manufacturer coupons made quite a difference on good quality food that I don’t feel bad about serving to my family!
