Welcome to The Savings Star! My name is Tig and yes, it’s my real name. I was named after a school teacher and her family was Scandinavian. When my mother was in the hospital after having me, the nurse walked in and asked her where she got the name and when my mother told her the name of the school teacher I was named after, the nurse said, “That’s my daughter!” (true story..)
Any way, I have a wonderful husband and two awesome kids. We currently live outside DC. I’m left handed and seriously love my juicer. I started couponing about 1 1/2 years ago. Once I learned, I told anyone who would listen about my new “mad skills”! After teaching all my girlfriends and their friends, I decided to focus on helping people with fixed incomes or low incomes. I have done classes for our local social services office and partners of the social services office. This blog is another extension to teaching others how to save money! I believe everyone should save money and with a little help, will have “mad skills” too!
